Tony Grimes has proudly lived in the Irving community for over thirty years. He is a successful local small business owner and has consistently shown up to serve the community. Tony was named an Irving High Spirited Citizen for his leadership and dedication.
Tony has led innovative initiatives that improve our community. He was instrumental in initiating the “Law Enforcement and You” workshop, which created a platform for law enforcement and the community to build trust. This workshop has now been implemented as one of the Irving Police Department Community Outreach Programs. Additionally, he served on the Irving Police Department Advisory Training Board and was involved in the hiring process for both Chief Spivey and Chief Miller. Tony served on the Irving I.S.D. School Board, and as a mentor in the Irving Independent School District.
Tony’s passion for serving the community has been demonstrated through his continued support of non-profit organizations. His leadership has enabled him to raise over $200,000 to support the work of T.R. Hoover Community Center, Bryans House, Children’s Hunger Fund, Family Compass, and Builders of Hope. He served as Chairman and a Mentor for J&B Outreach, which assists and supports under-served children in the Dallas Metroplex. With Tony's leadership, J&B sponsored Youth Football Camps facilitated by former Dallas Cowboys and donated over 1,000 coats, hoodies, and gloves within the Irving Independent School District and throughout Dallas County. Additionally, Tony has donated over 150 bicycles for local kids and organized community events for drafting trusts and wills, grant writing clinics, and entrepreneurship trainings.
